3R Scientific meeting on Ruminants Research 2014

 A major scientific event

The next venue of the national 3R scientific meetings on ruminants research will be held on 3 and 4 December 2014. As every year, the event will gather key players in the field of research, development and animal industries in the prestigious La Villette Congress Centre in Paris.

Jointly organized by INRA and the Institut de l’Elevage, this Francophone International Conference is dedicated to the formal presentation of recent results of research on different sectors of ruminant livestock.

More than 50 scientific publications will be presented in ten thematic sessions (food, health, equipment, livestock systems, product quality, environment,) with at least one session dedicated to advances in selection and animal genetics.

For two days, this scientific meeting will bring together more than 850 researchers (French and foreign), development experts (technical institutes, chambers of agriculture…) and actors of the various value chains and industries (genetics, health, nutrition, reproduction, equipment, processing ...).

All presentations made during the "3R" will be compiled in a yearbook (nearly 400 pages) containing all the presentations. Additionnally, the 3R website offers a free access to a very large bibliographic database of all articles published since 1994.

 The 2014 edition of the 3R

In 2014, the 21th edition of the 3R will also offer a specific session on genetic, with this .

• 1974 - 2014 : quelle place pour l’embryon à l’ère de la génomique et de la biosécurité sanitaire chez les ruminants ?.

• Estimation des effets de la consanguinité et du croisement pour les
  caractères de production chez les vaches de race Holstein, Montbéliarde
  et Normande.

• Test d’une évaluation génomique en race Simmental française.

• Développement d’un outil génomique de présélection sur aptitudes
  bouchères et facilité de naissance en races Charolaise, Limousine et
  Blonde d’Aquitaine.

• Sélection génomique en ovins laitiers en France : principaux résultats et
  conception pour la mise en place de schémas de sélection génomique.

• Bilan de la méthode de Sélection à Parenté Minimum après 6 ans
  d’application dans le schéma de sélection caprin.

• Assignation de parentés pour les populations ovines et caprines en
  sélection.

• Usage d’un outil générique dans la gestion d’une race locale : le cas de l’IA en Brebis Corse.

• Comportement des chevrettes Alpine et Saanen.
