2013 Aquitanima Fair

Organised within the framework of the Aquitaine Agriculture Show (as part of the Bordeaux International Fair), Aquitanima, the Cattle Breeding and Genetics fair, will gather together the breeding professionals from South-West of France in Bordeaux, from May 18th to 20th 2013. They will meet around interregional competitions and animal presentations : beef breeds with Blonde d’Aquitaine, Limousine, Bazadaise, Charolaise, and dairy breeds with Prim’Holstein, Brune and Jersiaise.

But this « great show » for cattle genetics is also an excellent showcase of the different breeds for foreign breeders. Indeed Aquitanima brings together about a hundred of professionnals from all over the world : breeders, veterinaries, cattle association representatives... come to discover or go further into their knowledge of these French breeds and to see the most beautiful specimens in order to eventually buy animals or genetics.

Beyond the participation in the show, the organisers, in partnership with Midatest, Sersia France and INTERCO Aquitaine propose to foreign delegations to take part in the Aquitanima Tours, which will celebrate their 10th anniversary for the 2013 edition.

Organised before the show (from May 15th to 17th) these 3-day of technical visits enable foreign professionals to exchange with French breeders on breeding practices and to compare the French farms with those of their countries.

Visits are divided in 3 tours, each one specialised in one breed : Blonde d’Aquitaine, Limousine and Bazadaise. They all end with the now famous international seminar held at the Regional Council of Aquitaine, which gathers all foreign participants.
