ICAR International Congress 2011

The International Committee for Monitoring the Performance of Breeding (ICAR) is responsible for defining the standards used for the identification, tracing, performance monitoring and genetic evaluation of domestic animals (cattle, goats, sheep and buffalo).

The ICAR International Congress 2011, with the participation of nearly 300 delegates from 38 different countries, provided technical conferences on all major current issues in ruminants’ genetics: new techniques for on-farm performance recording, phenotyping complex characters, potential impact of genomics on livestock management, new milk technical analysis and economic development
