Tech’Ovin 2013

A professional trade show specializing in meat sheep farming

Tech-Ovin stands out as the only specialized trade fair in France dedicated exclusively to the production of sheep for meat. For more than a decade now, in early September every two years, the entire sheep sector congregates at Bellac (Haute-Vienne) in the Limousin region―the heart of the biggest sheep production pool in France―for what is a unique event.

In a friendly community-spirit atmosphere, around 230 exhibitors and 15,000 visitors from across France converge to learn the latest technical, material and equipment innovations in modern sheep farming. Tech-Ovin is also attracting an increasing number of international visitors from all four corners of the globe.

A two-day exhibition featuring technical shows and theme-focused tour circuits

At a human-sized 5 hectare site boasting 5,000 m² of stand space, the Tech-Ovin trade show revolves around a set of technical clusters drawing together government agencies and technical organizations alongside the various actors in the sheep-for-meat sector. Tech-Ovin hosts 500 specimens of top-class genetic value from 30 different breeds of sheep.

Over the course of the 2-day event, the technical clusters and the main ring play host to technical shows featuring live demonstrations of equipment trials and practices.

In addition, two dedicated spaces set aside for technical conferences offer rolling coverage of hot issues on the sheep production agenda: electronic ID tagging, reproduction, cutting production costs, livestock buildings and facilities, starting up in the sheep farming business, and more.

Earlier, leading into the two-day show itself, Tech-Ovin organizes an all-audience day of theme-focused tour circuits visiting local sheep farming businesses.

Tech-Ovin is a professional yet community-spirit trade show, but perhaps more importantly, a unique forum for exchanging news and views not just on the breeds but also on sheep production facilities, practices and skilled expertise. Come to learn the latest innovations from France and further afield...
